McKnight’s Penny Wars is back! During the week of November 18th - November 22nd grade levels will have another chance to donate their loose change. The winning grade level will earn a special reward for being the Penny War Champions! Last year’s winning grade level was 5th grade who earned a total of $3,783.84.

How to Participate in the Penny Wars

• Each grade level will have a container located in the front foyer before school and in the library during the school day
• Students will fill their grade level container with pennies to donate to the Highmark Caring Place in Warrendale
  • Pennies - POSITIVE POINTS
• If a student from another grade level sees a container with a lot of pennies, that student can put silver coins in the container and it will cancel out some of the pennies.  (Example:  a dime will cancel out 10 pennies)
  • Quarters, Nickels, & Dimes = NEGATIVE POINTS
• Change will be collected in the lobby from 8:50 - 9:10 am

LET'S RAISE MONEY & AWARENESS FOR A GOOD CAUSE

• It is helpful if students bring their change in two separate bags - one bag for pennies and one for quarters, nickels, & dimes
• If your money is already in bank rolls, it is helpful to keep it rolled up
