The latest edition of Meet McKnight features another student favorite, Mrs. Thieret!
Mrs. Thieret is the Library Secretary and has been a staple at McKnight for 21 years! You've probably seen her if you have volunteered at the Book Fair, stopped in the library during the Art Show, or brought your student in for a Kindergarten screener. Mrs. Thieret is quick to flash her warm smile and strike up a conversation with students and parents. Let's learn more about her!
PFA: How do students know you?
AT: The students know me from the library.
PFA: What is your role at McKnight?
AT: I split my time between McKnight Elementary and Carson Middle School. At McKnight, I serve as the iPad manager for all students, assist students with finding books of interest, manage book circulation, prepare new books for circulation, assist with Book Fairs, provide resources for staff and students as requested, and overall provide support the staff and students with their library needs.
PFA: My favorite thing about working at McKnight is:
AT: The wonderful staff and amazing students. McKnight truly is "A Big School with a Bigger Heart!" Watching the students develop a love for reading and learning in our library is a joy to witness.
PFA: My favorite hobby is:
AT: Reading, of course!!! And exercising...fitness walking, swimming, biking.
PFA: When I'm not at McKnight, you can find me:
AT: Walking my grand-dog Pinto, playing board games with my family, enjoying outdoor activities.
PFA: Is there anything you’d like to share with us or anything else you think our school community would find interesting?
AT: "The more you read, the more things you will know."
